The Company’s Founder and President, has trained in Europe in various styles of dances for over 12 years. She founded the Dancing Bears Dance Company in 1995 and has been teaching dance classes to children at various private schools. In 2011, she opened the DB Dance Studio in Kenneth Village in Glendale to teach various styles of dances to children ages 3 and up. The studio offers an extensive array of dance classes to anyone, from recreational to serious dancers. The DB Dance Studio also has an elite dance team that participates in competitions and community events. The studio provides a friendly environment for the dancers and great customer service to the parents. The studios goal is to see the young dancers blossom into fantastic and confident performers in a nurturing environment. In addition, the instructors are carefully selected to ensure that their level of training is in line with the studio’s expectations.
Ms. Abby Lynn Avery
Director of DB Ballet
Abby Avery has been the Ballet Director of DB Dance Studio since it opened in 2011. She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas training in tap, jazz, ballet and musical theater. Miss Abby earned her B.F.A. in Ballet at Friends University. She has danced with several ballet companies throughout the United States including Wichita Ballet Theater, the Montgomery Ballet, the Fresno Ballet, San Diego Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet and American Contemporary Ballet. She has danced several leading roles including the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker
, Princess Irena in Firebird
, and her favorite role- Juliet in Romeo and Juliet
. Since locating to Los Angeles, Miss Abby has appeared in a national commercial as well as the television series Glee. We are proud to have her part of our staff.

Tania is a Southern California native and UC Berkley graduate who has had the privilege of pursuing a carrier as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. Specializing in Zumba, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Lyrical and Hip Hop, she received notable training under the direction of Dennon and Sayhber Rawles, Lisa Locke, and Bradley Rapier of the Groovaloos. Her stage performance and choreography credits include Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast, Forum, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chicago, and West Side Story. Tania had the honor of receiving a Backstage Garland award for her choreography in MTLA’s Cabaret in 2010. We are very happy to have her as a teacher.
